NOTICE TO APPLICANTS: All candidates seeking employment should submit their application materials online or review by Administration. Application materials should be updated regularly and uploaded accordingly. In the event there is a vacancy, application materials will be reviewed and screened by the appropriate Administrative team members and candidates will be selected for interviewing. 

Once candidates are selected, the District will initiate a comprehensive and competitive interviewing process. Depending on the position, there may be up to three (3) interviews conducted prior to selecting a candidate to recommend to the Norwin Board of Education for employment. For Central Office and Principal/Assistant Principal positions, the Board of Education will be involved in the final round of the interview process. After selecting a candidate for hire, the District will conduct reference checks and obtain all the proper state-mandated clearances and background check documents.



 

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR SERVICES NEEDED - SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

The Norwin School District is looking for an Independent Contractor to provide services as a School Psychologist for the 2018-2019 school year. This is a 200 day position beginning immediately and will be a one-year contract.  The pay for this position is $65,500 and does not provide benefits.  You must have a valid/active PA School Psychologist Certificate issued by the Department of Education.  Experience is preferred.  You would be required to obtain all required clearances and credentials prior to the start of work.  If you are interested in being considered for this position, please email ssnyder@norwinsd.org and include a copy of your resume.  School starts on August 20, 2018, and we would like to interview as soon as possible before that date.

 

 

CUSTODIAL/MAINTENANCE POSITIONS AVAILABLE

The Norwin School District has:

 - One (1) Full Time, 2nd Shift Custodial positions available - Thursday through Monday;   Pay $10.50/hour + a $.15 cent Shift Differential 

-  Two (2) Part Time, 2nd Shift Custodial positions available - $9.75/hour

-  One (1) Skilled Trades/General Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift - $13.46/hour + a $.15 cent Shift Differential  (see below for more details on this position) 

-  Substitute Custodians - 2nd and 3rd shifts - $9.30/hour

ASSOCIATE BAND SPONSOR

Schedule: The Associate Band Director will be in attendance at all band rehearsals over the summer including band camp. He/she will attend all football games and competitions during the fall marching season.

Duties: Ths Associate Band Director shall be responsible for conducting rehearsals in small group, sectional and ensemble settings. The successful candidate will be well versed in instrumental and musical fundamentals and will be able to teach students at varying levels of proficiency. The candidates will also be responsible for teaching visual/marching rehearsals.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a motivated, energetic educator and leader. Experience teaching marching band and/or other ensembles is required. Drum Corps experience is a plus. The successful candidate must be well versed in woodwind pedagogy. Degree in Music a plus, but not required.

This is a non-athletic supplemental position and will pay $4,688 at the end of the 2018-2019 school year which will be the 1st pay in May, 2019.

SKILLED TRADES - GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

This is a Full Time 2nd Shift Position, salary of $13.46/hour plus $.15/hour shift differential.

Class I Skilled Trades – General Maintenance Technician is responsible for the routine, preventative, and ongoing maintenance within all District facilities; assuring that all facilities and their associated equipment is functioning in a safe and efficient manner. Performs work independently but in consultation with the shift supervisor and/or the more skilled maintenance worker.

Examples of job duties (not all-inclusive):
  • Performs a wide variety of general and skilled maintenance activities (e.g., carpentry, painting, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
  • Performs basic repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment and related components in a safe and efficient manner (e.g., change filters, make motor adjustments, lubricate bearings/bushings, clean uni-vents and air handlers, check and adjust belts).
  • Performs basic electrical repairs on electrical switches, outlets, plugs, cables, appliances, light systems, switch gear, circuit breakers, and associated panels. 4. Performs basic plumbing repairs on leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces seals, faucets, handles, and similar parts; maintains drinking fountains; repairs, replaces, and maintains hot water heaters and other similar appliances.

SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIANS NEEDED

The Norwin School District is looking for substitute custodians, primarily for 2nd and 3rd shift work. The current substitute rate of pay is $9.70/hour. SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSES NEEDED

Applications being accepted for substitute Certified School Nurses and substitute Non Certified School Nurses (Nurse’s Aides). Must be an RN or an LPN, hold a current nursing license and must obtain Acts 24, 34, 151, 126/Child Abuse Training, and FBI clearances prior to working. Salary for substitute School Nurse is $105/day, salary for substitute Nurse’s Aide is $13.60/hour.
