Student Services

Student services is comprised of group of diverse professionals whose role is to provide specialized services to students throughout the Norwin School District. Student services professionals are located in each building of the District and work as a team to provide a continuum of support to all students.

Each member of the student services staff brings a set of competencies and advanced training specific to his or her discipline that is necessary to meet the diverse needs of student populations. Each member of the various disciplines also has been trained to work within the school environment and within the context of student learning and healthy development in order to promote student success and achievement.

Developmental services, as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Chapter 14 regulations, are services for students that address their developmental needs throughout their enrollment in schools. These services include:
  • school counseling services
  • psychological services
  • health services
  • home and school visitor services
  • social work services that support students in addressing their academic, behavioral, health, personal and social development issues
 
Norwin provides these services through a variety of programs and activities which include:
