ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Norwin Middle School operates on a team concept. Students are divided into three (3) teams in both seventh and eighth grades. The 7th grade teams are composed of five (5) core subject teachers in the areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Reading. There are four (4) person teams in 8th grade composed of four (4) core subject teachers in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Practical applications of the curriculum and the development of critical thinking and problem solving are emphasized. Other subject areas include Art, Music (General Music, Band, or Chorus), Industrial Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, Physical Education/Health, Communications, Computer Applications, and World Languages, consisting of Spanish, French, and German. Students have the opportunity to participate in many clubs and activities sponsored by the faculty.
