Norwin Teacher Recognized at University of Pittsburgh Football Game

Mr. Raymond Rakvic, a Business, Computer, Information, and Technology teacher at Norwin High School, was recognized on Saturday, September 21st by the University of Pittsburgh College Football Playoff Foundation (CFP) and Extra Yard for Teachers campaign. CFP recognizes teachers across the country for making positive impacts in the community while serving as role models and leaders for their students.

Mr. Rakvic serves as Department Head for Business, Computer, Information, and Technology. He was one of seven western Pennsylvania teachers who received recognition at the Pitt football game.

“I was honored to be nominated and recognized by the University of Pittsburgh and the Extra Yard for Teachers (College in Football Playoff Foundation),” Mr. Rakvic said. “I truly enjoy working with the students of Norwin School District and I am always striving to provide the best education possible for our students.”

Mr. Rakvic noted that the School District offers many opportunities for students, including the College in High School Program.  He teaches both Cyber Security/Information Science and Computer Science courses here at Norwin for the University of Pittsburgh, which allow our students to earn University of Pittsburgh college credit while taking Norwin classes.

Congratulations, Mr. Rakvic!
