Text Message Alerts
The district utilizes SMS (text messaging) for emergencies, school closings, school delays, unscheduled early dismissals and transportation notifications. Our goal is to text time-sensitive or otherwise important information.
For parents to receive texts from the School District, please make sure to follow these steps:
- Log into the Skyward Family access portal.
- Verify your mobile phone number(s) on the Skylert tab/screen. Under Contact Info.
- Add any additional phone numbers that you would like to also receive text messages to the Text Message Numbers area. This area is not used for parent/guardian numbers. Examples of numbers to enter here include a student's mobile number, a babysitter's number, a neighbor that gets the student off the bus and would need to know of bussing delays.
- From each mobile number, text Yes to 67587. This authorizes the mobile number that sends the text, to receive text messages from the district.
It is essential that you provide the District with accurate phone numbers and email addresses in Skyward. You should also alert the District when there is a change to any phone number or email address.
