Substitute Information

Applicants may apply to become substitutes with the District by clicking the Apply button below and selecting the job category of interest. Please answer the appropriate question within the application about substitute interest.
 
Once your application has been made and approval provided, daily vacant positions for professional teacher, aide, and secretary positions will be filled through the substitute calling service AESOP.  Food Service and Custodial vacancies will be filled under the direction of the Department Supervisor.

Applicants should be aware that applications will be kept on file for one (1) school year. Applicants are responsible to ensure their application information is updated.

All substitutes will be required to provide the following documents as a condition of employment.

 

For Teacher Substitutes, please provide a full packet that includes:


  • Resume and PA Standard Application
  • Copies of Transcripts (Note: If you are a recent graduate and you don't have your final transcripts that show your student teaching grade, please turn in what you have to date, and a copy of your final transcripts upon receipt).
  • Copy of Praxis/PECT Scores
  • Copy of Teaching Certificate (or completion letter from college, in interim)
  • Letters of Recommendation (no minimum)
  • Act 34 Clearance (Criminal History Background Check) - no more than 5 years old
  • ACT 151 Clearance (PA Child Abuse History Clearance) - no more than 5 years old
  • FBI Federal Criminal History Check - no more than 5 years old
  • ACT 24 Form - 3 page version (Self Reporting/Arrest and Conviction Report)
  • ACT 126 Training (Child Abuse Mandated Reporting & the PA Educator Discipline Act--2 separate trainings)
  • ACT 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form/s
  • Create a Raptor Account and upload your clearances (information coming soon)
  • Payroll Paperwork (include copies of your driver's license, Social Security Card and Voided Check)
  • Internet Agreement (2 Signature Pages)

For Non-Teacher Substitutes, please provide a full packet that includes:

 
  • Resume

Important Notes

 
Please note that all new Cafeteria Worker and Custodial Substitutes will be required to complete a 2-part Physical Assessment Test at the District's expense. Information will be provided on scheduling these tests prior to beginning to work.  A Physical Exam will be included as part of this testing.
 
 *TB/Tine tests can be completed by any healthcare provider at the employee's expense.

Substitutes will be approved once a month at the Board meeting. 
 
Please provide a complete packet to the Human Resource Office by the first Wednesday of each month.
